Many kinds of troubles to be happened in filling process of the powder, such as flying of the powders' dusts, an excess of fill, volume, instability of filling and fill. Accuracy, etc. can most effectively be controlled by means of removing air existing among particles of the powder, that is, to tighten the powder by deairing. We have, thus, collaborated on this work exclusively with Mitsubishi Chemical Engineering Corp., and incorporated the deairing system into our Auger Powder Filling Machines so as to function ejecting air contained in the powder outward in course of filling process through which the powder is fed by the auger from hopper down to containers. The Auger Powder Filling Machine with Vacuum Deairing Function introduced herein is the one in question. The rise in bulk density of the powder by applying the deairing, that is, compacting of volume, is remarkable, and a test result of filling 20kg flour into bag proves that its volume is reduced by ab't 25% compared with in a case of filling without deairing process.

[SPECIFICATIONS]
- Principle
As shown in the section, structure of the deairing unit consists of Double layers of Inner and Outer Cylinders, that is, Filter and Vacuum Cell respectively. The Inner Cylinder is made of Special Metal Filter and Porosity Metal Plates. The Deairing process is to suck out air in the powder with a vacuum and to eject it outward through the vacuum cell, while the powder is being fed by the auger. Through this special filter, the only air in the powder, not the powder's particles, is continuously ejected.
- Performance
Data herein shows a rise in bulk density of various kinds' powders caused by applying the deairing process. The deairing unit displays better performance in a case that the powder's particls size is very fine (i.e. fine than 20 micron).
